A Note from the Woods...

Dear Wood Acres Families,

Many of us make resolutions at the new year to do things better or differently. Resolutions are a great way to “reset” or reestablish our own true north. Children are very naturally attuned to what life is all about, and observing our children is a wonderful way to create resolutions that allow us to refocus on the joy of living. As the wonderful saying goes, “While we try to teach our children all about life, our children teach us what life is all about.” So, let’s each of us…

Be resolved to live in the present.

Be resolved to read together.

Be resolved to grin and smile.

Be resolved to play outside, in the sunshine and the rain.

Be resolved to listen with your heart and your ears.

Be resolved to love without condition.

Be resolved to laugh and giggle.

Taking cues from our children to live in the moment is a precious gift. Enjoy each moment with your child during the holiday season and allow them to give their gifts to you as well.

In addition to visiting the classrooms, parents can ask questions about curriculum, what a typical day is like, field trips (for elementary students) and so much more!

Open House hours will be from 10:00am-12:00pm for families visiting the Two,Three and Four Year Old Programs and 1:00pm-3:00pm for families visiting Kindergarten through 8th grades.

Parents and students are invited to attend. Feel free to invite friends & neighbors as well! Your official invitation will be coming in January and we look forward to seeing you and your terrific students at this wonderful campus event.

You can optionally sign up for a reminder notice on our Open House page.

Friends of Wood Acres Atlanta Magazine Promotion

Page 145, Atlanta Magazine, January 2010Some dedicated and enthusiastic parents recently decided to help Wood Acres get the word out about our great school! The group is known as the Friends of Wood Acres and with generous support from parents, they will be assisting Wood Acres in marketing through print and other media. Initially, the group has placed an advertisement in the January education issue of Atlanta magazine with other projects in the works.

The playdate, sports game or neighborhood gathering marketing that our families do every day is just as important as traditional marketing. Recommendations from parents who value a challenging educational environment for their children are essential to families looking for just the right school for their child. Your role in bringing families who are engaged in and committed to an exceptional education to our campus is vital and tremendously appreciated!!

Many thanks to all the families for their generous support! If you are interested in helping, please contact Kim Drabik at kimdrabik@comcast.net or Kirsten Holthaus at kholt85@bellsouth.net.
