Happy New Year! I hope everyone enjoyed the break and time together with family and friends. Hard to believe that school begins again tomorrow, but so looking forward to seeing the kiddos once more! Please read on to see what’s in store for our short week back.

January 3 – School Resumes

January 15 – MLK Holiday; No School

January 18 – Report Cards

January 28 – Open House; 2-4 P.M.

Important Notes:
The Living Museum: Students from both classes will be choosing a person of historical significance that they would like to learn more about. Details and dates will be coming home soon about this book report and The Living Museum.

What’s Going on in our Classroom:
Reading: We will be reading Kate DiCamillo’s The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane as a class. Reading logs will start fresh tomorrow, so please remember to record your 20 minutes nightly.

Writing: Students will be writing about their New Year’s goals and resolutions.

Grammar: We begin our study of adjectives and adverbs.

Spelling: No spelling this week. Spelling will resume Jan. 8th.

Vocabulary: No vocabulary this week.

Math: We will begin division! Math facts must be memorized 🙂

History: Our Viking unit will continue. A test date will be announced soon.
