Super Sunday

Hello Parents,

If you are getting ready to watch the Super Bowl, I hope the team you are routing for wins and that both teams do not suffer any major injuries just good old-fashion sportsmanship.

I am sure you heard, but peace and harmony has been restored in Narnia due to Aslan’s and Edmund’s bravery and courage by defeating the White Witch. Everybody turned in their novel and vocabulary test on Friday which will be returned tomorrow. We have one more writing assignment that relates to the story which will take all week long and is our next bulletin board. I’ll let you know when you can admire the writing and artwork done by our talented and creative fourth graders.

On Thursday, February 8, there will be a quiz in Grammar that covers only the lessons on Adjectives. We have one more lesson to learn on Using Good or Bad, and we will continue to review as we get closer to the quiz for Thursday.

We are nearly done with Chapter 5 on Long Division. My lesson plans show a CYP quiz on Friday, Chapter Test on Monday, and Cum Review Test on Tuesday. Again, I will watch to see how well we understand Order of Operations and the word problems for this chapter. I’ll keep you posted as the week progresses.

Earlier today, I sent you the Sign-Up for our Spring Conferences. I just can’t believe that we are already talking about 5th grade, and the progress I’m seeing in your super student so far this year. Thanks for signing up and looking forward to talking with you soon.

One more thing, as we get ready for Valentine’s Day, please have your student bring in an empty shoebox to decorate for the Valentine’s Day cards and goodies. We will be exchanging Valentines with all fourth graders and our book buddies.
If all goes well, we will be decorating our boxes this Friday, so your student can bring in a shoebox any day this week. If all goes well, our mailboxes will be ready to be filled on February 14.

I do believe that is all for now. Enjoy the rest of your Super Sunday.

Yours truly,
Cheryl Leagan
4th grade teacher
