Presidents’ Day Weekend

Hello Everybody,

Having a three day weekend came just in time because all of our fourth graders and teachers have been working really hard these last few weeks. I was quite impressed with the stamina and effort that went into creating “Our Heroes” bulletin board, working on research, and completing another chapter in math. When we return to school on Thursday, we will continue to learn about Adverbs, Measurement, and our 4th grade Book Project, so let the fun begin!

Speaking of projects, the next grammar project/test will be to create a menu using pictures of foods that your student will find and cut out from store ads, newspapers, magazines and bring to school. Each student needs to have three pictures of breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert foods that are delicious for them to eat. The pictures should be about 2×2 inches because all 12 pictures and descriptions will need to fit and be glued onto a large piece of construction paper.

This project will not begin until we complete the Unit 4 on Adjectives, Adverbs, and Prepositions. However, finding all of the pictures could be challenging. Let’s plan to have all pictures in school by Friday, March 2.
Thanks, and I hope your student enjoys looking for the perfect pictures for their menu.
