Greetings from Mrs. Leagan

Hello Everybody,
My family just left our home after we celebrated my younger brother’s birthday. All of us had a nice time, but we wanted to cut the evening short because losing an hour of sleep this weekend will be challenging in the morning. I will totally understand if our students are not quite ready to tackle our morning schedule. We will do the best we can.

Speaking of schedule, this week will be busy with reading, writing, and arithmetic. Everybody is heading to the computer lab this week to type in their descriptions for their menus and to continue to type the research paper. In addition, all fourth graders will continue to work the writing process for The 4th grade’s Terrific Times book. I am looking forward to reading all about the terrific people, places, and things that have made a big impact on our students to put into their book. Stay tuned for more information coming home soon about ordering your copies to put on your shelf at home.

In math, we are almost done with Chapter 6 on Measurement. Looking at my plans, I am hopeful that all assessments will be done before we leave for Jekyll Island on Wednesday, March 21. Please keep an eye on your student’s homework folder for the dates on the CYP quiz and Chapter Test.

As we get ready for Jekyll Island, I know there will be a lot of questions about what to pack, what to expect, and anything else that is important to know before we get to the 4H Center. Mrs. Kuegeman and I will do all we can to answer questions from you and our students to help prepare for this great field trip.

Don’t forget, this Friday, all fourth graders will be presenting their book report to you and other visitors. I will send home another schedule, so you know when to arrive and listen to a few other presentations. See you on Friday.

The grading period ends this Friday, and Tuesday, March 27, report cards will be going home. On Saturday, I worked on grading the assessments taken last week and graded any assignments that were late. If your student needs to complete any missing assignments, I will let them know tomorrow so they are done by Friday.

I believe that’s all the information I have at this time. I hope your weekend was enjoyable and you are ready to begin this week with a smile.

Yours truly,
Cheryl D. Leagan
