4th Grading Period is Here!
Hello Everybody,
45 days are left in this school year, and I just can’t believe it. Looking at the progress all of our students have made this year is endless. I just finished working on the grades for the 3rd grading period. Even though some of the averages have slipped a little, the amount of learning that has occurred throughout the last three months is truly amazing. You will get to see for yourself when all report cards are sent home on Tuesday, March 20. Just a reminder, please sign the report card and return it and the envelope back to me. Thank you.
In just three days, we are off to Jekyll Island for our fun and fabulous field trip. I have been searching for my stuff to pack, finishing up my laundry, and getting ready for a great time. Everything you need to know is in the packet of information or on their website. However, if you have any last minute questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Last Friday was one page-turner of a day. Every student did a phenomenal job presenting their book report to their peers and parents. Please stop by and look at all of the great projects on display. The fourth and final book report will be announced this week, so your student has plenty of time to choose just the right book to read and share with the rest of us in May.
Friday afternoon, everybody completed their menu project full with great pictures and creative descriptions which are also displayed in my classroom ready to be admired. Please stop by and get a taste of the talent that each student has in their own art work and adjectives.
Our book project on 4th grade’s Terrific Times is coming along quite nicely. Last week, your student brought home an order form for you to fill out and return to me as soon as you can. I must have all order forms with all of the pages, so I can send the completed package back to the publisher. If you are not ordering a book that is fine, but I still need to have your completed form with that information filled in and given back to me.
This upcoming week will be rather busy because a lot is happening in and outside our classrooms. Tomorrow, there will be a math pop-quiz, and on Tuesday, a Chapter 5 math test on Measurement. We will continue to work on our book since the deadline will be here very soon. Grammar, Spelling, and Vocabulary are on hold right now, so we can focus on completing our book on time.
Last bit of information, the Friday folders will be sent home on Tuesday. Friday afternoon was busy and too much fun to get them filled out, so the folders can be returned on Monday, March 26.
Take care, enjoy the beautiful weather, and I’ll be in touch soon.
Yours truly,
Cheryl Leagan
