Super Spring Day

Hello Everybody,
What a glorious weekend! All of the April showers have brought beautiful May flowers, and soon I will head outside and enjoy the beauty of this amazing spring day.
First, I must thank all of the 4th grade students and parents who helped out with our Cool Girls Accessory Drive yesterday. Our boxes were overflowing with cool items that will definitely bring smiles to the Cool Girls faces as they celebrate their accomplishments on July 28 and get ready for the new school year. If you were not able to attend, I truly understand. However, if you still have or want to donate items before the school year ends that would perfectly fine. Just drop off your items with Mrs. Kuegeman or me, and we will add them to boxes of goodies. Thank you again for your kindness, generosity, and thoughtfulness.

This upcoming week is pretty busy in all subjects and with Field Day festivities:
Monday, April 30, your student will receive their mid-term progress report. Please review, admire, sign it, and return to school as soon as you can. Quick note, since we have been writing stories and taking the standardized tests, there is not a vocabulary grade at this time. However, there will be vocabulary for the rest of this grading period.

Thursday, May 3 – The 4th and final book report presentations will be given.

Friday, May 4 – FIELD DAY at Fuller’s Park. YEAH!!!

This week, we will be finishing up Unit 5 in our grammar book which means all assessments will be next week. Some of the lessons are new and challenging, so as soon as I know how well our students are prepared, I will let you know the days for the quiz and test.

In Reading, we are finishing up the story “Battle of the Brains” this week, so the written part, reading quiz, spelling test, and vocabulary quiz will be next as well.

In Mrs. Leagan’s class, we are working on two different chapters in math. We started fractions and double-digit divisor division on Friday. These two areas in math will be the focus for the rest of this school year. So far, everything is going well because we are going at a pace that’s comfortable for everybody.

I believe that’s all for now. Now, I am going outside to play in the dirt and to absorb lots of Vitamin D.

See you tomorrow.
