Saturday Salutations

Hello Parents,
As I enjoy watching the Bulldogs play the South Carolina Gamecocks, I wanted to send out my weekly hello and let you know what’s happening this upcoming week.

Please check your student’s Friday folder because there is quite a bit of information for you to sign and return back to us as soon as possible. Yesterday, we explained the field trip permission slips, picture day order form, and the Fire Safety workbook that will be completed in school and at home. The homework will include discussions on home safety for the entire family. The topics are interesting, informative, and important for your student to complete before our field trip on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 27, 2018. You may learn something new that will help protect your precious family if anything should happen. Thanks for your participation, support, and preparation for our trip to the Fire Safety Village.

Speaking of preparation, there are a few assessments that are coming up this week which we have been practicing and reviewing for already. Here they are:

Monday, September10 – Grammar quiz over Lessons 1-4. Review has been done but more would be helpful. Please take a few minutes to help go over the first four lessons in your student’s grammar book.

Tuesday, September 11 – Check Your Progress (CYP) math quiz over Chapter1.
Spanish quiz
Wednesday, September 12 – Chapter 1 math test
Thursday, September 13 – Cumulative Review math test
Friday, September 14 – Spelling test and vocabulary quiz over the second spelling list which is in your student’s red homework folder.

We hope you can join us for Constitution Day on Monday, September 17 at 9:30 on the quad. Mrs. Thigpen always does an incredible job honoring our flag and the men and women who protect our Constitution and country.

One more shout out to DJ Tomlinson and Darby Hayes because they are now in the double-digit club. We hope their birthdays are loaded with lots fun, family and friends.

Thanks for your time and I hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
