It’s fall, y’all!

Hello Everybody,

I will love this time of year when the temperatures cooperate with this beautiful season. Soon, the yellows, oranges, and reds will begin to appear and all will be colorful and the temperatures will feel just right.

Just a few quick things to mention:
•Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Monday and Tuesday. Looking forward to talking with you about your student’s progress and productivity during the first grading period.
•Math-help will be on Wednesday until 4:00. Hope to see you student there.
•Thanks for finishing the Fire Safety workbook. For our field trip on Thursday, please have your student bring a completely disposable lunch, wear a Wood Acres t-shirt, longer shorts, and sneakers, and get ready for fun and informative day. Our chaperons will be Kimberly Wrenn and Kimberly Boyle. We are so glad they can join us for our first field trip.
•Please keep an eye on your student’s homework folder for assessments to be given the first week of October. We are near the end of our first grammar unit, history chapter, and the first few chapters of our novel. Mr. Ovbey and I will coordinate carefully, so these assessments are spread out throughout the week.

We want to thank you for joining us for Constitution Day. As always, Mrs. Thigpen and Mrs. Mazor make us feel quite proud that we are a part of our great school and country. Please stop by and read “What Liberty Means to Me” on my windows, and see how happy our 4th graders are to be living in the United States. Go WA & USA!

I have one more important reminder to share. After you enjoy your cold beverages, please pull off the “Pop Top” and have your student bring them into school. There is a place in my classroom to put them in until they are taken to the Ronald McDonald House for supplies needed for the families using the rooms or apartments while their young loved one is recovering from surgery and cannot be in his or her own bed. Thanks for your support towards this great cause.

Take care, and I hope you enjoy the rest of your wonderful weekend.
