Johnny Appleseed Day

We had so much fun on Friday! The students made homemade applesauce, met Johnny Appleseed, built apple towers, made apple trees, and tried a variety of apple treats. Thank you parents for the donations and help! It was a successful day!

This week we will be wrapping units 3 and 4 in The Adventures of SuperKids. We will continue learning “er” and “ed” words. Our new memory words this week are look, your, the, was, are, and for. We will be reading “In a Pickle” and “Golly Went Sniffing.” Feel free to read these stories as home with your child in your hard cover book. This will help with comprehension and fluency. We will have the end of the unit test at the end of the week.

In math the students will continue to learn different varieties of addition. We have been having fun using manipulatives, working with partners, and using marker boards.

This week in history we will be learning about Christopher Columbus. In science the students will be wrapping up with the 5 senses.

Please remember we have picture day on Thursday, October 4th.

Enjoy Your Evening,
Mrs. Lindsey
