Book Fair

Good Morning,
Fall is definitely in the air with these cool, crisp mornings. Please begin sending a light coat with your child in the mornings.

We are deep into our Superkids unit of encoding words with -ing and -ed. You can review this with your child with the sheet I sent home last Monday. We will also review short vowel sounds and begin learning long vowel sounds. You can also practice this weeks memory words: we, there, or, be, to, and from.

In History the students wrapped up the unit of Early American Civilization and we are moving onto Early Explorers and Settlers. in the coming weeks the students will learn about Jamestown, Pocahontas, Plymouth, Pilgrims, and The First Thanksgiving. The students also finished their first unit in Science with Ms. Bratcher. They learned about the five senses and are now moving onto hygiene.

The Book Fair is this week, October 15-19 in Few Cottage. Our class went on Friday to preview the books and they created a wish list that they brought home in their Friday folder. You can purchase books after school next week . They are only accepting checks and debit/credit cards. No cash. I hope you get a chance to check it out!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I will see everyone in the morning!
