We all make believe in Halloween!
Dear Wood Acres families,
Trick or Treat smell my feet, give me something good to eat! Pumpkins made for a festive treat, as we “pick” our way through another great week. This week will be fill with cauldron of activities that would spook even the scariest of creatures. For creativity, we will create ghost windsocks, spiders hats. The children love to sing and dance, so ask them “The Five Little Pumpkin” dance. This week, we will be reviewing numbers one through five. For group activitie, we will play Halloween bingo game to help identify numbers, sort counting bears in groups of five and one on one correspondence as we lace beads to create a number bracelet.
Investigator Club. This we we will be focusing on the following:
Oral Language: What’s in the bag?
The objective is to use increasingly complex and complex and varied spoken vocabulary.
Music: “Great Auntie Lou loves to Paint”
The objective is to understand conversations, stories, songs and plays l.
Science: Experiment with the Number Magnets.
The objective is to use simple tools to gather information, participate in an investigation, think about l, and discuss what happened.
We would like to send out a huge thank you to James’s uncle for stepping up to fill in our Mystery reader last week. Thank you for sharing some of James’s favorite book with us. This week, we would like to welcome again Mr. Fudged as our reader. We look forward to hearing some more of James’s favorite stories.

Our Halloween party is this Tuesday, October 31st. If you have not done so, please sent in a bag of candy or goodies for your child to trick or treat amongst the class. Remember to keep a close eye on the ingredients due to severe peanut allergy in our class. Thanks you!
We are thankful that you will invite your friends and neighbors to our Fall Prospective Family Open House on Sunday, November 4th from 2:00 – 4:00 pm. It is a fabulous time to meet the teachers, explore the Wood Acres campus, and learn all about a Wood Acres education!
Thanksgiving feast will be held on November 16th at 11:00. We are looking forward to seing you all there as we come together as one family to give thanks. Please look out for your assigned dish in your child’s folder weeks to come.
