Halloween Week Fun

Families,

I hope you have enjoyed this chilly fall weekend! The students did an outstanding job this last Thursday and Friday presenting their characters from their book report. I was blown away with their pumpkins and creativeness put towards them. They loved looking at each others and hearing their stories. Bravo!

This week in SuperKids we will focus on CVCE words (long vowel sounds) and adding -ed and -ing to the end of a CVCE word.
Ex. time, timed, timing
tape, taped, taping
bake, baked, baking
Please have your child practice this weeks memory words: oh, day, any, very, want, and good.

We have completely dove into subtraction and this is where it can get difficult. It is important for your child to have their addition and subtraction facts (0-12) memorized as this will help them throughout the year. I love this link for flashcards that you can use at home. http://www.math-aids.com/Flash_Cards/

Our class will have our Halloween Party on Wednesday from 1:45-2:45. Please send your child’s costume in a bag and they will have time to change into it before the party starts. DO NOT have them come to school with their costume on. We have many other things going on during the day and this would be a huge distraction. Thank you, thank you, thank you to all of the parents who will be donating their time or supplies to make this party happen! I couldn’t do it without you!

Our class is running low on snacks. There are times when someone might forget their snack and may need one. We do not have any food allergies in our class, so any snack would be great! Thanks!

Have a fun and safe Halloween and remember to turn your clocks back next Sunday!
