New Year = New Grading Period

Hello Parents,

Great news! The sun is shining, the birds are chirping, and we’ve reached the end of the 2nd grading period. Yes, can you believe that your student is halfway through 4th grade? It just doesn’t seem possible, but the 3rd grading period starts on Wednesday, January 9.

The next nine weeks are busy as we begin the research paper, have our meeting for the Jekyll Island field trip, the 3rd book report presentations are given, and attend the Wood Acres’ Open House along with so much more. Take a look through your student’s homework folder for the dates and times for all that’s happening during the next nine weeks.

Thursday and Friday was a nice way to get ready for the first full week of school. We will start long division, continue to read about Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy as they enter Narnia, and begin a new unit in Grammar.

Math-help sessions are back on Wednesdays until 4:00. I have heard that the extra practice has really been helpful which makes me smile and cheer.

Enjoy the rest of this beautiful weekend, and I’ll be in touch soon.

Yours truly,
Cheryl Leagan
