Sunny Salutations
Hello Everybody,
First, I want to thank everybody for coming to our meeting for our Jekyll Island field trip. I know Tim and I gave you a lot of information about our trip, but I didn’t go over the important sheets of information that must be filled out and returned to Mr. Ovbey and Mrs. Leagan as soon as you can. Please look at the payment schedule along with the other paperwork located in the blue folder.
Also, if our chaperones and students have any dietary restrictions, please let me know because I must inform the Jekyll Island coordinator, so their kitchen staff can plan and order accordingly. Thank you very much. As I said yesterday, if you have ANY questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask because I want you comfortable and excited about this awesome field trip because I can tell your student is anxious and ready for this fun experience.
Academically, we are plugging away at long division, finishing up our unit on pronouns, and completing the in-class vocabulary card quiz in Reading. There will be a reading quiz over Chapters 9-12 and spelling test on Tuesday, January 29. Everybody is busy researching their state and learning a lot in science. It’s so much fun being your student’s teacher because I get to see first-hand all of the learning that goes on each and every day and the progress everybody is making is simply wonderful.
I hope you can tell that I truly love seeing the efforts our students give every day in 4th grade. I don’t think our students are aware of how much they are learning in school Monday through Friday at Wood Acres. Please join us at the Open House on Sunday, January 27 from 2:00-4:00 and see what’s to come for your future 5th grader. I think you will be amazed at how much your student will learn next year and beyond at our great school.
That’s all for now. Please enjoy this sunny Saturday and the rest of your weekend.
Yours truly,
Cheryl Leagan
