Fabulous February
Hello and Happy Presidents’ Day.
I must admit that my weekend was spent grading all of the assignments and assessments for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. I was quite pleased with the final grades and I think you will be too. I am hopeful that I will leave my home today for some fresh air and new scenery which will be a pleasant change.
Here are some dates to know:
Tuesday and Wednesday – Parent-Teacher Conferences – See attached list for your day and time. There is a schedule in your student’s homework folder as well.
Monday, February 25 – All of the 4th graders will come together and discuss the theme for this year’s book publishing project. This is my ninth year teaching this writing project and I truly enjoy every minute of it. I’m always amazed how well everybody collaborates together in creating a wonderful and memorable keepsake. Looking forward to what our students decide for this year’s book.
Friday, March 8 – Book Report Presentations – Hopefully, your student is working on their own time-line for this project to be completed without any stress or angst.
Wednesday, March 13 – The final payment due for our trip to Jekyll Island. The permission slip and deposit were due this past Friday. If needed, you are welcome to give us any pieces for this field trip during conference week.
Academically this week, we will begin Unit 4 in Grammar and two chapters in math which will cover Measurement and more Division practice. In addition, we will write our Hero stories from our novel study, work on the research paper, and continue to learning about ecosystems and adaptations for our trip to Jekyll Island.
My heart was full of the warm-fuzzies after all of my sweet treats, cards, and yummy goodies that I received for Valentine’s Day. My family and I have enjoyed eating them all. Thank you very much for your kindness and thoughtfulness, but having your student in my class warms my heart every day.
Take care and I’ll see you soon.
