March News

Hi families!

It sure has been a busy few weeks! The Leprechaun traps were a huge success and the room was a disaster….the kids loved it!!

A few key details:

Report cards are coming home this Thursday and overall this was a challenging quarter for many, especially with saying goodbye to Ms. Lindsey and adjusting to a new teacher. The transition has gone smoothly and the children have adjusted beautifully. We are ready to tackle the fourth quarter together.

Footprints:

Your child will be bringing home 7 sheets of lined paper. As a reminder, your child needs to complete 7 Footprints for our last quarter. They are due Friday, May 17th.
I would recommend handing in 1 per week instead of waiting until the final due date to hand in all 7. Many have asked, and yes you can do multiple Footprints for 1 chapter book. Two or three chapters at a time have worked best in the past. Please put the chapter number at the top of the Footprint so I can follow the correct order when reading them. Thanks.

Book Report:

Book report forms will come home in tonight’s homework folder. Students will pick any book of their choosing, create a project, and write the report like a footprint. Again, please no poster or drawing on a piece of paper. It must be multi-dimensional. Please look on Shutterfly for examples under ‘Parent Information’ tab. The book report and project are both due Monday, May 13th. That will give us time during the week to present.

Spring Break assignment:

The next board I plan to display will be your child’s Spring break adventure. Please plan to take some pictures over the break and send them in when we return so they can be displayed on our board. There are two pages with small descriptions boxes that will go along with the photos (four 4×6 or 3×5 photos are needed). We will work on this when we return from break. I really need 100% participation with the pictures, please. Thank you.

Spring party: Friday, March 29th

Each child (that plans to be here for the party) needs to bring in 12 plastic, pre-filled, already sealed eggs for the egg hunt. We were really hoping for parents to help out; this is an outdoor party filled with lots of outdoor games and activities. Without parent support, it is hard to put these parties on. If you have yet to help volunteer, stop on by…we can always use extra hands!

The party is from 11-12:00. You are free to take your child anytime after the party. If they plan to stay for lunch, they must be picked up no later than 1. Any children not picked up by 1 will go to the office to await parent pick up. As a reminder, there is no afternoon Tree House next Friday.

I cannot believe how quickly we are approaching April! When we return from Spring break, I will have lots of information to share with regards to Spring Testing (15th-23rd), Field day (26th), and our field trip (30th).

Thank you all for your support throughout this transition. Your children are all very thoughtful and kind, with so much to share. I’m enjoying getting to know each individual and the class as a whole.

Enjoy the sunshine!
