We spent much time this week preparing for Mother’s Day. In case you haven’t opened your present and card, I won’t tell you what it is but, I think you will LOVE it enough to frame so it will be something to cherish for years to come!!

We discussed how moms take care of their children even in the animal world and that mom’s job is 24/7! I read many books about mom’s love. Some of my favorites to check out……….”The Runaway Bunny”, “I Love You Stinky Face” and “Are You My Mother?”.

Thursday was a special day because we listened to the Chrome concert In the M. P. Room. What a talented bunch of children…….Some sang and danced and others played instruments. In a few years, your child too can become a star at Wood Acres!

Our “End-of-the-Year Party is Thursday May 23! What an exciting line-up the moms have planned………A Carnival with games, prizes, and yummy snacks! Please consider helping for at least an hour or two to help set up, man the games and cleanup. Set up starts about 10:00. If you can volunteer, please email Amanda Collins to let her know. Can’t Wait!!

We finished the alphabet!! What an accomplishment!! So proud of these boys and girls!! Next week we will focus on alphabet games, Chica Chica Boom Boom book and assessments.

The 7th graders are raising money for their Spain trip next year. Please send your gently used books for their book sale. Thank you.

Happy Mother’s Day tomorrow!! I hope you are showered with hugs and kisses that you so deserve!!

Wanda and Sandy
