Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, What A Great First Week We Had So Far! ?
What a wonderful first week at school! Mrs. Thomas and I are enjoying your amazing children. It is a wonder that we have only completed the first week as we are in such a groove! Last week, we worked on classroom rules, explored our creative learning centers and we also worked on how to organize our classroom. We found out that everything has a place and it stays in the same place all year, so that the children can find things and put them away more easily. We read “Amazing Me” and “Llama Llama Misses Momma”. We worked on our fine motor skills by dot painting the letters in our name and exploring with play dough. We utilized our gross motor skills during playground time and PE. Art, Spanish, Computer and Music class were fantastic as well.
We are in for a rich year of learning at the Woods!
Mrs. Thomas and I are very excited to be on this adventure with your precious little ones.
This week,, our theme is “Friends and Family”. We will share our family photos with the class, create a family tree and make friendship bracelets. If you have not done so please bring in a family photo so that your child can share it with our class.

Parent Orientation is this Thursday from 6:30 to 7:30. Please mark your calendars. It is a night where we will review our curriculum and goals for making this a wonder year of learning in the 3s. Come support our school as we the staff, faculty and students march in the East Cobb parade September 14th at 10:00 o’clock.
Constitution day is September 15th at 2:00 on the quad. Come one, come all as we celebrate our 50 years of learning at the Woods. Special treats such as Ben & Jerry’s and much more will be provided after the ceremony. We are excited and looking forward to celebrating together as one family.
