Oct. 7th- 11th: Book Fair!

Oct. 8th: Scavenger Hunt & Pictures with Book Buddies. Students should wear plaid if possible.

Oct. 22rd: Report Cards go home

Oct. 31st: Halloween Pajama & Movie Day with hot chocolate & donuts. Campus cleanup in the afternoon beginning at 2:00.

Nov. 3rd: Wood Acres Fall Open House

Nov.21st: Third grade Thanksgiving feast (Students & Teachers only)

Important Notes:
Canada Project: Due on Oct. 23rd.

Halloween: Official 3rd grade pajama and movie day! Join us at 2:00 for trash patrol on the Wood Acres campus.

What’s Going on in our Classroom:
Reading: We continue reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and summarizing each and every chapter. Please stop by and take a look at our summaries at the back of our classroom.

Spelling: Words are: January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and calendar. Homework due Friday.Test on Friday.

Vocabulary: Unit #5 words include: atmosphere, brilliant, convince, endure, glance, harsh, plunge, precious, swift, and unite. Test on Friday. (Don’t forget to have your child use www.vocabularyworkshop.com to help with the study of Unit 5 words.)

Math: We are working on subtraction with regrouping and skip counting by 3’s, 4’s, 6’s, 7’s, 8,’s, 9’s. 11’s, and 12’s.

Grammar: We are working on nouns.

Canada Test on Tuesday, Oct. 8th. Information comes from our book and blue folders. Students will have to label the territories and provinces, although we will have a word bank.

Science: We are working on finishing Investigation #3 and will begin Investigation #4.
