Oct. 31st: Halloween Pajama & Movie Day with hot chocolate & donuts. Campus cleanup in the afternoon beginning at 2:00.
Nov. 3rd: Wood Acres Fall Open House
Nov.21st: Third grade Thanksgiving feast (Students & Teachers only)

Canada Project: Due on Oct. 23rd.
Halloween: Official 3rd grade pajama and movie day! Join us at 2:00 for trash patrol on the Wood Acres campus.
What’s Going on in our Classroom:
Reading: We continue reading Mr. Popper’s Penguins, and summarizing each and every chapter. Please stop by and take a look at our summaries at the back of our classroom.
Spelling: Words are: Vikings, warriors, plunder, ransom, sailors, blacksmith, explorers, building, longships, fierce, captured, carving, runes, oarsmen, village, prisoners, treasure, goblets, seacoasts, feasts.Test on Friday.
Vocabulary: Unit #6 words are border, certain, clasp, depart, fierce, journey, observe, superb, treasure, and wisdom. Test on Friday. (Don’t forget to have your child use www.vocabularyworkshop.com to help with the study of Unit 6 words.)
Math: We will be taking a test over subtraction, and beginning our chapter on multiplication.
Grammar: We are working on nouns.
Writing: We continue to work on fall inspired stories, and will also make a book Called: Character Counts!
Computer Lab: We are typing our Halloween Guidebook using Word, and learning some of the different features of this program.
History: We will begin our unit on the Vikings!
Science: We are working on finishing Investigation #3 and will begin Investigation #4.
