Wednesday Welcome
Hello Everybody,
Today is the end of the 1st grading period. I just can’t believe how fast time is going and how much your student has learned during the last nine weeks. I hope you are noticing a positive change in your student’s self-confidence, work habits, and overall growth. I absolutely love my class, and I am so excited to begin the next grading period with my awesome students.
Since tomorrow starts the 2nd grading period, your student will be bringing home their report card next Tuesday. Please read over the grades, their individual progress, and the comments written by me. If you have any questions, let’s chat about your super 2nd grader.Academically, we are moving right along in reading, math, spelling, grammar, science, history along with all of our specials. Thank you so much for helping your student with homework when needed and for letting me to grade their mistakes. As the year moves on, I feel independence will be the key to growing and becoming stronger in all areas of school.
I wanted to let you know that there will be a science test over the entire cell on Weight and Volume next Wednesday and Thursday. This week, we are meeting with our Beaker Buddies to complete Investigation 5 on Comparing the Weight and Volume of Liquids as well as finish the study guide for next week’s test. We will review next week before the test on Wednesday, October 23 for my homeroom and Thursday,October 24 for Mrs. Littleton’s homeroom. Please review and quiz your student over the entire SDR and study guide, so your 2nd grader is fully prepared for their first science test. Thank you.
Quick shout-out to Davia and Kayla. We really enjoyed your birthday treats and we hope your special day was full of friends, family, and lots of fun. Speaking of fun, Baby Picture Day was awesome. Thanks to Karin Golan and Medea Shah-Nulkar for the fun baby stuff that made our day complete. Come see our poster of baby pictures before they go home this weekend.Halloween party information will be coming home soon as well as Thanksgiving Feast sign-up. Boy, time really is flying by us.
That is all for now. Enjoy the cooler temperatures and pleasant afternoons.
