Oct. 22rd: Report Cards go home
Oct. 31st: Halloween Pajama & Movie Day with hot chocolate & donuts. Campus cleanup in the afternoon beginning at 2:00.
Nov. 3rd: Wood Acres Fall Open House
Nov.21st: Third grade Thanksgiving feast (Students & Teachers only) Sandy Piper will be sending out a Sign up genius for our feast.
Important Notes:
Canada Project: Due on Oct. 23rd. Students will be presenting their projects on Wednesday and Thursday.
Halloween: Official 3rd grade pajama and movie day! Join us at 2:00 for trash patrol on the Wood Acres campus.
What’s Going on in our Classroom:
Reading: We are halfway through Mr. Popper’s Penguins, summarizing each and every chapter. Please stop by and take a look at our summaries at the back of our classroom.
Spelling: Words are: aloud, allowed, grate, great, there, they’re, their, weather, whether, your, you’re, rode, rowed, cent, scent, sent, right, write, which. Students will have to pay attention to the usage of the word on Friday’s test.
Vocabulary: No vocabulary test next week!
Math: We are working on multiplication, and will soon begin division facts as well.
Grammar: Next week we will focus on possessive nouns.
History: We have started our unit on the Vikings! Canada projects are due Wednesday, and students will be presenting on Wednesday and Thursday. Mrs. Piper is coming in Thursday and serving crepes!
Science: Students will be designing an experiment comparing weight and density in the Jr. Beaker.
