GAZETTE#8
SUPERKID:
Icky is keeping us busy. We have been working a lot on the middle sounds. The children are doing a wonderful job with their reading! They have been enjoying reading books to the class. We are all working on expressions as well.
THE WORD LIST TEST IS ON WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 6th.
Remember to have your little one practice their words every night. Most of the kids could take their test today! They are doing so well!
MATH:
Chapter 4 has been fun! The children have been doing a fantastic job with their numbers. Working with ordinal numbers is still a bit tricky but we are doing lots of games involving the Superkids. Our friends and I are confident we will get it! We also learned that checking our work after counting objects is very important! For extra practice, you can go on-line at www.sadlier-oxford.com.
Learning how to form our numbers has been keeping busy as well. The Chapter Test is on Wednesday, Nov. 7th.
SOCIAL STUDIES:
After tomorrow, our room will start to look more and more like Thanksgiving. This week we learned about the dreamcatcher legend and we even made our own dreamcatchers! The children really enjoyed that project! It will be on our new bulletin board by Friday! Stop by to take a look if you have time.
SCIENCE:
This week, we are finishing our science unit on pumpkins. We all had a super time helping carving our own Jack-o’-lantern. You should have seen their faces when I asked them to help me clean the inside of the pumpkin. It was soooo funny! Counting the seeds kept us busy as well. Our pumpkin had 477 seeds!
HALLOWEEN~
Tomorrow is our Halloween Party. We will start the morning with a parade around campus. Please have your little one wear his/her costume to school with a change of clothes in their backpack. They will be changing after the party and wearing their regular clothes. NO SNACK NEEDED. We are hoping for no rain during our parade!!!! Keep your fingers crossed for us!
