September recap and news
Happy Sunday!
I hope everyone had a great week! I enjoyed my time away, but am happy to get back into the swing of things.
To my knowledge, Friday folders did not go home Friday since I was not there. The new spelling list will come home tomorrow in your child’s homework folder.
I am still missing a few family photos for our wall. If you haven’t sent one in, please do so this week. Thanks!
Pictures will be taken this week. If you have not sent in the form and check, please do so ASAP. I “THINK” our day is Wednesday, but I will confirm and let you know tomorrow.
Even if you do not plan to purchase any pictures, please send your child to school in a picture ready outfit since we will get a class photo taken.
We are almost done with our first round of Footprints! Woohoo! There will be two weeks before they start up again while we move into the second quarter in school.
Coming home in upcoming Friday folders will be the outline for the Halloween book report and project. There are lots of examples on Shutterfly of past projects.
A few reminders when completing the project and book report:
use a real pumpkin (not too tiny or too large-your child should be able to carry it into class)
NO carving the pumpkin (can paint, glue, draw…please no poking holes)
choose an easy level book (can be Halloween theme but doesn’t need to be)
and finally, the character in the book is the pumpkin
Thank you, thank you, thank you to all who donated their time and efforts for our Johnny Appleseed party. It was a wonderful first party, filled with smiles, laughter, and good food and drinks. Up next, our Halloween party!
**Quick survey….would parents be able to volunteer at our party if we decide to have it first thing in the morning? I’m thinking 8:30-9:30 party on that Thursday. We couldn’t do it if we didn’t have enough parents to help out. Let me know your thoughts!! Thanks.
