Weekly Update November 18, 2019
What a week! We’ve been busy with projects, play rehearsal, and of course learning new things in all of our studies. Next week, we will be scaling back a bit with our school work in preparation for our play and upcoming break.
-Our Thanksgiving Performance and Feast will be Thursday, November 21s in Mrs. Littleton’s classroom at 11:00 am. Thank you to everyone who has signed up to bring in food! We have costumes for all of our food. The only thing you need to do at home is dress up your child for their performance. For example, our kids who are playing grandma and grandpa are asking if they can bring it props to which my answer is- OF COURSE!
-November/December Book Reports: Thank you to everyone for bringing in a book for our reports. Please keep in mind that students ARE allowed to use more than one resource should they need it. Book reports are due Monday, December 16th
Language Arts: We will be taking a week off from our typical Journeys Textbook and spend the week learning about the history of the first Thanksgiving. We will also be working to complete flip books that will go home by the end of the week. Please note there will be no spelling list for next week.
Math: Our Chapter 3 tests were FANTASTIC. I am very proud of their hard work, especially with those line plots…they can be tricky! We are now working hard on our two digit addition with carrying over. We will continue to practice this week!
History: We are moving along in history and will be discussing haikus, kimonos and bonsai trees and their importance to Japanese culture. We will also be working on creating our own haikus.
Please let me know if you have any questions! As always, thank you for all YOU do!
