“Tis The Season
Dear Winter Wonderland families,
With the chill in the air and our campus looking so festive the children are getting excited just listening to the sound of the bells. We are looking forward to filling the next few weeks with activities and festivities in celebration of the holidays all around us.
This week, the highlight of the holidays are upon us. We will create edible Christmas trees with ice cream cones, m&m’s and green icing. We will also make reindeer food with oatmeal flakes, m&m’s and glitter. You can sprinkle it over your grass to attract the reindeer on Christmas Eve night. To continue to strengthen our fine motor skills, we will thread red and white beads onto red pipe cleaners to create candy canes. What a fun and joyful week it’s going to be here in the 3’s.
Our study of numbers continue as we transition from nine to ten. The children will continue to identify and recognize objects in groups of ten during circle time. We will use the white board this week to strengthen their pencil grip by tracing the number ten. Finally, we will be adding to our number book by painting our ten fingers. Your support at home is crucial to our success in the classroom. Please be creative and help your children practice counting at home. Thanks for the support!
