SUPERKIDS:
Last Friday, we met a new Superkid. Her name is Ettabetta. Together we are enjoying her games and riddles. Next week, we will even make riddles of our own. The children are learning the short sound of e as in elf, and are listening for that sound at the beginning and in the middle of the words. In this unit, we will learn to substitute letter-sounds to change log to leg and slid to sled. Learning with Ettabetta is lots of fun! She is definitely full of surprises. The letter “e” is tricking us a little and by playing many games in the classroom, we will be practicing to recognize all the different vowel sounds. * Please encourage your child to review any of the letters and their sounds we have learned so far. We have worked with beginning, middle, and ending sounds. The children are all doing great and trying their best! Handwriting has been keeping us very busy too. Please continue to practice letters and the Word List at home.
ETTABETTA WORD LIST TEST is on Tuesday December 17th.
MATH:
Today, we started chapter 6. In this chapter, we will learn to make tallies, picture graphs and pictographs. Lately we have been learning how important it is to check our work twice!
THE CHAPTER 6 TEST IS IN JANUARY (MORE INFO WILL FOLLOW)
BIG NEWS:
You might have heard it already… My son Marc decided we should have an aquarium in our classroom. He showed up this weekend and installed a beautiful aquarium with 4 guppies. Yesterday we made teams and each team had the responsibility to name a fish. We now have Blue, Love, Banana and Cotton Candy Sprinkles. Sometimes, I see the children quietly hanging out by the aquarium and observing them. They all seem to enjoy them. On Friday, they’ll have to help me clean the tank. It will be fun because I have absolutely no idea how I am going to do this! 😊
LITTLE REMINDERS:
Friday, December 20th is our Winter Party. Thanks to all the moms who are planning it! We will wear our pj’s and the children can even bring one stuffed animal or blanket. We will have a pancake breakfast, no snack needed. It is going to be lots of fun! Friday, December 20th is the last day of school before the winter break. We’ll dismiss at 1:00 PM/ NO TREE HOUSE

HAVE A GOOD END OF THE WEEK!
