It was a gingerbread kind of week! I told the flannel board story of “The Gingerbread Man,” and the children loved reciting what he repeatedly said, “Run, run as fast as you can. You can’t catch me, I’m the Gingerbread Man.” We heard other stories with the same theme. The children did a great job with the sequence activity of the disappearing Gingerbread Man. Of course it helped to eat the cookie while doing the project!! Yum! We played with Gingerbread play dough and cookie cutters. We decorated a paper gingerbread house complete with a family. Did your child put the family in order from smallest to largest?

Hurrah! We finished our Counting Books. After I bind the pages into a book, your child will bring it home. Just wait and see it!

We were put in a festive mood on Thursday after going to our first Chrome Concert and enjoying the talent of the upper school children. Some danced and sang and others played instruments. See the picture below.

Next week, we will.review numbers 1-10 and hear my favorite Christmas story, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas.” Let’s wear our pajamas next Thursday and our festive clothes on Friday for the holiday party! Can’t wait! Also, don’t forget no afternoon Tree House on Friday. Dismissal is 12:45.

Thank you to Mira’s dad, Manu Chabbra, for reading to our class Friday.
