Happy Friday everyone! Just a couple of quick things today. Our letter this past week was R and next week we will be working on the letter B. We have started our first Happily Ever After unit, Little Red Riding Hood and hope to finish up next week.

We had our first meeting with our Book Buddies today. They are sixth graders and today they came to our room and joined us for lunch…the kids had a fun time meeting and hanging out with the “big Kids”!

Friday News

Here’s hoping you have all had a great week and are ready for the weekend!! We worked on the letter M and will be moving on to R next week. Wednesday is always a busy day for us with two specials, but this week we added our first Technology class for a really busy Wednesday!!

Just a quick reminder to fill out and send in your All About Me sheets for our class book. They were included in the stack of papers from Parent Orientation night.

In your child’s folder today, you should find two cards we made for Grandparents Day , which is this Sunday the 8th. Please distribute, mail etc as you would like.

As we discussed on parent night, conference days are coming soon. Cobb county is out that week, so if you are traveling or these days just don’t work for you, please let me know and we will find a time to reschedule, do a phone call or whatever works best for you. Remember, there is no school or Treehouse those days, September23 and 24.

We hope you will be able to make it to the 50th year celebration for Wood Acres next Sunday afternoon!

Have a great weekend!!

Friday News

It was so great to see many of you at Parent Orientation last night. If you were unable to attend, there will be some handouts in your child’s folder today. Please just look over them and let me know if you have any questions.
Good Afternoon!
The kids have had a great couple of weeks and we are starting to find our rhythm. We have reviewed rules, shapes and colors and are ready now to get busy! Next week we will be starting on the letter M. We will spend the whole week working on recognition, letter sound, letter formation etc.

One thing that came up last night that I wanted to clarify was about snack. Please don’t feel like you have to provide juice boxes on your snack day. If you are more comfortable with water, we are more than happy to provide cups of water with snack…it is truly your choice and either way is good with us.

I hope you all have a great long weekend and are able to enjoy some down time with family and friends. If you are traveling, be safe and we will see you all on Tuesday!!

Happy Friday!

Updates

Just a quick update of some upcoming events…

Our 100th day of school is next week. We have a project we would like to do and are asking if each family can donate one pack/book of stickers…any kind is fine. Thanks in advance!

Next Friday, Feb 1, is Mitten Day. We are hoping each child can have one adult to join them at school to do some activities in our room…just some counting, measuring, letter matching etc. We will start at 11:00 and will go no longer than an hour. We are also collecting mittens for families in need, so if you are able, please consider donating a pair/pairs of mittens for either a child or adult.

Open House is this Sunday, January 27, 2:00-4:00 It is a great opportunity to look at the different programs and meet the teachers as we look to next year.

Have a great rest of your week!!!

Happy Friday

Happy Friday Everyone!!

Please be sure and check your folders this weekend for a couple of important flyers.

We will be having “Mitten Day” on Friday February 1, at 11:00. This is just about an hour long(at the most) and we just would love each child to have one adult if at all possible. We will be doing some activities with counting, patterning, measuring etc. We are also collecting donations of mittens for adults and/or children to donate to families in need.

Just as a reminder, Monday January 21, school will be closed for MLK Day.

Have a great weekend!!
