The Highest of Standards

Starting in 5th grade, our students take leadership classes and learn about kindness, fairness, honesty, respect, and hard work ethic. They also help others by giving back to the community. Our middle schoolers are known for being great students and working hard.

Our students get to help run school events, choose elective classes that they like, and go on fun field trips. Each grade has the chance to go on an overnight trip to show learning in new ways. They also have band, physical education, art, technology, and recess to enjoy along with their busy school day.

When our students finish 8th grade, they are ready for what comes next in high school. Many already have class credits! They are accepted into nearly every high school of their choice, including magnet, charter, public, and private schools. We provide our students with a variety of teaching approaches, STEM projects, and teachers who care about each child. We are proud that our students leave as confident, successful leaders.

6th Grade

Sixth grade is an exciting time with new opportunities and responsibilities. Our students get their own lockers, enjoy more freedom, and have a longer school day to dive deeper into learning. They take core classes like English, math, history, and Spanish, along with electives like physical education, band, art, and leadership. Lunch and recess on the Quad give them time to relax and connect with their friends.

In English, our students become stronger readers, writers, and speakers by working with different kinds of media. Science classes are hands-on, using the Lab Learner program in our modern lab to explore exciting topics. Pre-Algebra helps our students build their math skills as they get ready for more advanced high school concepts. History and geography classes allow our students to learn about world cultures, religions, and traditions to better understand the global community. Spanish classes focus on speaking and writing more deeply. It gets them ready for their exciting 8th grade field trip to Spain. They can also take an overnight trip to Marine Lab in Key Largo. There, they bring science to life by exploring mangroves and coral reefs. It is a year full of discovery, growth, and fun!

7th Grade

Seventh grade students gain more independence and leadership opportunities. As they reach the middle of their middle school years, their classes become more challenging. Our students continue to grow in confidence and skills. The core classes remain the same with more rigor. They may continue with band or choose to take multimedia classes instead. Electives include leadership classes, physical education, and art. Outdoor recess and lunch on the Quad are also part of their 7th grade experience.

In English, our students focus on reading, writing, and speaking with more purpose and critical thinking. American history classes cover the period from the American Revolution to the Civil War. Students also explore an in-depth study of the U.S. government that ties into the optional Triumvirate of Democracy field trip. In algebra classes, our students strengthen their math foundation as they prepare for advanced high school courses. Science classes continue with the Lab Learner program, using an online platform to collect and analyze data. It gives our students real-world lab experience. Spanish classes focus on expanding vocabulary and mastering more complex grammar to improve communication.

8th Grade

Eighth grade is a special year that celebrates all the growth and learning our students have achieved. As the oldest students on campus, they take on leadership roles and take part in activities that show their love for our school and their readiness for the future. Classes are designed to prepare them for graduation and the next steps in their education.

In English, our students read challenging books, write thoughtfully and accurately, and speak with confidence on many topics. Algebra and geometry classes help them build a strong foundation for high school math. In science, they complete their studies with the Lab Learner program, exploring life, chemical, and physical sciences while using innovative online tools. History classes pick up with the Civil War and continue through modern U.S. history. Spanish class reaches its peak this year, with our students having the exciting option to study at the Universidad de Pontificia in Salamanca, Spain. This is an unforgettable 10-day trip that brings their learning to life.

Our 8th graders can continue with band or switch to multimedia classes. They still enjoy electives like leadership, physical education, and art, as well as lunch on the Quad and recess. The year ends with our graduation ceremony in May.
